
SRINAGAR: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday carried out a major reshuffle in the Finance Department, transferring and posting over 70 officers across multiple departments and districts to improve administrative efficiency.
As per Government Order No. 174-F of 2026 dated April 30, the changes have been implemented with immediate effect in the interest of administration.
Under the order, several senior officers have been assigned new responsibilities. Iftikhar Hussain Chouhan, currently Director Finance in the Information Technology Department, has been given additional charge as Director Finance in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. Naila Zahoor Chib, Director Finance at Police Headquarters JK, has been posted as Director Finance at the Accountancy Training Institute in Srinagar.
Key transfers include Yasir Sharief, who has been moved from Saddar Treasury Jammu to serve as Financial Advisor/CAO in the JK Sports Council, while Sachin Verma has been posted as Treasury Officer at Saddar Treasury Jammu. Manohar Lal has been shifted to JPDCL Kathua as Chief Pay and Accounts Officer.
The reshuffle also covers the health and education sectors. Mohd Ayoub Lone has been appointed as District Treasury Officer Anantnag, while Nuzhat Mushtaq has been posted as Financial Advisor/CAO at Government Medical College Srinagar.
Several Chief Accounts Officers have also been reassigned. Irfan Majid has been posted with the JK Road Transport Corporation, Nishad Akhtar has been transferred to Police Headquarters Srinagar, and Mohd Iqbal Pedhar has been appointed as Chief Accounts Officer in SICOP.
At the district level, postings have been made in Kupwara, Pulwama, Kulgam, Baramulla, Ganderbal, and other areas to strengthen treasury and accounts management. Farooq Ahmad Lone has been posted as District Treasury Officer Pulwama, while Belal Ahmad Lone has been shifted to the Directorate of Industries and Commerce Srinagar.
The order also addresses officers awaiting promotion, placing them in key roles such as Chief Accounts Officers and District Treasury Officers.
The government said the reshuffle is aimed at improving efficiency, strengthening financial governance, and ensuring better coordination among departments.
