
SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday dedicated advanced medical equipment worth Rs 2.25 crore to the public at Jawahar Lal Nehru Memorial Hospital, aimed at strengthening critical healthcare services at the hospital.
The equipment, procured under the Corporate Social Responsibility initiative of [HDFC Bank (https://www.hdfcbank.com?utm_source=chatgpt.com), includes an ERCP endoscopy machine, Ultra/Doppler sound machine, tissue processor for histopathology and laser urology equipment.
Officials said the newly installed facilities are expected to enhance diagnostic and treatment capabilities across multiple departments of the hospital.
During the visit, the Chief Minister inspected several sections of the hospital, including the Department of Pathology, laboratory services, immunology section, biochemistry section and the ultrasound room. He also interacted with doctors, technicians and paramedical staff.
Omar appreciated the efforts of healthcare workers and commended the hospital staff for continuing to provide medical services to patients throughout the year.
He was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary, Health and Medical Education Minister Sakina Itoo, MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq, senior doctors, hospital officials and representatives of HDFC Bank.
