Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Raises Concern Over Jammu Demolitions | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: President of Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian and founder of the Anjuman Interfaith Dialogue Chapter, Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Al-Safavi, on Friday expressed concern over the demolition of residential structures belonging to members of the Gujjar-Bakerwal community in the Sidra area of Jammu.

Addressing the Friday congregation at Markazi Imam Bara Budgam, he said the demolition drive had reportedly rendered several families homeless and described the situation as a matter of concern from a humanitarian perspective.

He said any action leading to displacement of communities raises questions that require examination within the framework of law and human rights.

Mosavi also appealed to public representatives, social organisations and human rights bodies to take note of the situation and engage in efforts to address grievances related to such enforcement actions.

He further urged authorities to ensure that law enforcement measures are carried out in accordance with due process and without affecting vulnerable sections of society.
