Kashmir: Father Dies of Heart Attack After Son Breathes His Last in His Lap

SRINAGAR: In a heart-wrenching tragedy that has left the entire Tethar area numb with grief, a father died of a heart attack moments after his young son passed away in his lap while being rushed to the hospital.

According to sources, 45-year-old Shabir Ahmed Gania was on his way to a nearby hospital carrying his ailing 14-year-old son, Sahil Ahmed, when the boy suddenly collapsed in his arms. Overwhelmed by the unbearable sight of his child’s death, Shabir too suffered a fatal heart attack before they could reach medical help.

Both were taken to the Sub-District Hospital in Banihal, where doctors confirmed that father and son had died of cardiac arrest. The double tragedy has cast a pall of sorrow over the entire locality as relatives and neighbours gathered for their last rites, mourning a loss too heavy for words.
