Islamic University Of Science And Technology Research Assistant Post In Mechanical Engineering Department

Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora has released a revised notice inviting applications for the position of Research Assistant under the project titled “Insulation of concrete house in Kashmir: A thermo-economic analysis.” The project is funded by the J&K Science Technology and Innovation Council, Department of Science and Technology, Government of Jammu and Kashmir. The appointment is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.

As per the official notification, the Research Assistant will work under the supervision of Dr. Mahvash Afzal, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, IUST. The engagement will initially continue till 29 January 2026 and may be extended based on performance and project continuation.

Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 20,000 per month (consolidated)

Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates must possess a B.Tech or M.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 60% marks or equivalent. Preference will be given to those with GATE qualification, a Master’s degree, or expertise in Thermal Science.

The position will be valid initially up to 29 January 2026 and may be extended depending on the candidate’s performance and the continuation of the project. The position is purely temporary, and no claim for regular employment in the university shall be entertained.
