SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government has clarified that Nasir Aslam Wani has been officially appointed as Advisor to the Chief Minister, dispelling recent “misleading” reports questioning his appointment.
According to a government order, Wani’s appointment has already been confirmed, with only the terms and conditions of his service pending finalisation.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister’s office said the delay in finalising these details has been unnecessarily highlighted, creating an impression that the appointment itself was incomplete.
Some misleading reports are being circulated regarding the appointment of Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani as Advisor to the Chief Minister.

Despite this procedural delay, Wani has been actively contributing to governance in Jammu and Kashmir, assisting the Chief Minister on a range of policy and administrative matters.
The CM office said that clarification was necessary in light of circulating reports that did not reflect the official position. “The appointment stands made. What remains is the final notification of terms and conditions, which is a routine matter,” a tweet by the office read.
Wani, a prominent political leader, has been engaged in various governance initiatives in recent weeks, underscoring his functional role as Advisor to the Chief Minister.
