LG Sinha Calls for Ecological Integrity, Felicitates ‘Pride of Jammu Kashmir’ Heroes

SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today emphasised that India’s pursuit of rapid growth under Viksit Bharat must be rooted in ecological and economic integrity, calling biodiversity protection a national mission requiring collective action.

Speaking at the ‘Pride of JK’ award ceremony organised by Network 18 in Srinagar, the Lieutenant Governor honoured Army, NDRF, SDRF, JK Police, NGOs and civil administration officials for their exemplary service during the recent natural disaster in the Union Territory. He said their courage and selfless dedication in rescue and relief efforts offered hope amid devastation.

Sinha asserted that the Government of India, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, is committed to reviving Jammu and Kashmir’s development momentum. He urged citizens to support security forces in combating terrorism, stressing that separatist elements are “breathing their last” as agencies have been given a free hand to crush militancy and its sympathisers.

The ceremony was attended by senior officials from the Army, civil and police administration, Network 18 editors and staff, NGO representatives and prominent citizens.
