LG Sinha calls for action against radicalisation, drug menace

Srinagar, Sep 26: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday called for an integrated government action against radicalisation and the menace of narcotics.

Chairing the Unified Headquarters (UHQ) meeting at Raj Bhawan, Srinagar, to review the current security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir, LG Sinha called for a “whole of government approach” for effectively tackling radicalisation and the drug menace.

He directed the security apparatus to ensure continuous improvement and proactively adapt to evolving threats.

“War against terrorism is not over yet. Kinetic and non-Kinetic operations must continue. We must maintain the momentum and take stringent action against terrorism and its entire ecosystem,” the LG told the officers.

He congratulated the Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security forces and intelligence agencies on the recent successful anti-terror operations in Jammu and Kashmir.

Northern Army Commander, Lt Gen Pratik Sharma; Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo; Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat; GoC 15 Corps, Lt Gen Prashant Srivastava; GoC 16 Corps, Lt Gen P K Mishra; GoC 9 Corps, Lt Gen Rajan Sharawat; AOC J&K, Air Vice Marshal Vikas Sharma; Special DG Coordination PHQ, S J M Gillani; Principal Secretary Home, Chandraker Bharti; ADGP CID, Nitish Kumar, and Principal Secretary to LG, Mandeep K Bhandari also attended the meeting.
