SRINAGAR: The 2025 edition of TechKnow, the annual technology festival hosted by Delhi Public School Srinagar, opened today with more than thirty schools from across the Valley taking part. Organised by CyberCrew, the school’s technology club, the festival has grown into Jammu and Kashmir’s largest platform for school students to engage in hands-on technological learning.

Day One saw over 350 students participating in nine workshops covering Artificial Intelligence, App Development, Robotics, Video Editing, Programming Essentials, Web Development, Game Development, Graphic Design, and Digital Marketing. In keeping with the festival’s distinctive format, the sessions were led by student instructors, creating a peer-to-peer learning experience that has become TechKnow’s hallmark.

The opening ceremony introduced the workshop heads and set the stage for a day of collaborative learning. Participants engaged deeply with both foundational and advanced concepts, working alongside their peers in a spirit of creativity and exploration.

Principal Shafaq Afshan said the festival embodied the school’s vision of empowering students to become both learners and mentors. “TechKnow stands as living proof of our commitment to nurturing talent. It fills us with pride to see our students step into the role of mentors and instructors,” she remarked.

Chairman Vijay Dhar echoed this sentiment, noting that the school’s motto, Service before self, was being realised through initiatives like TechKnow. “Nothing gives me greater joy than witnessing this tradition being carried forward with undiminished passion. Congratulations to CyberCrew and to all the participants,” he said.

Teachers and students alike praised the day’s events. A teacher from J&K Police Public School described the workshops as “useful and interesting,” while a student from Government Middle School Ferozpura said he had “an amazing time learning about A.I. modules and Python.”

Supported by sponsors including Encash Mahindra, HK Cement, Zum Zum Milk Products, Spark Creations, CNS Infotel, JK Startup 360, Greater Kashmir, Kashmir Uzma, and Red FM, TechKnow 2025 will continue on Sunday with another full day of workshops. The festival will conclude on September 15 with a grand closing ceremony, where Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will be the Chief Guest and Commissioner Secretary of the Commerce and Industries Department IPS Vikramjit Singh the Guest of Honour.
