DM Jammu Withdraws Order on Requisitioning of Private Water Tankers

SRINAGAR: District Magistrate Jammu on Saturday Withdrawn the order issued under section 163 BNSS, 2023 for regulation and requisitioning of private water tanker in Jammu district.

In an order by DM Jammu rescinded the earlier order issued under Section 163 of BNSS, 2023, which had placed all private water tankers under the control of the Jal Shakti (PHE) Department for regulation and supply in the district.

Order reads that the previous order was aimed at ensuring equitable access to potable water in the aftermath of recent floods and disruption of supply across several parts of Jammu.

Nearly 80 percent of the water supply is now restored and alternative arrangements in place for the remaining areas, unrestricted functioning of private water services can resume, order reads.
