SRINAGAR: Jammu Railway Station was put on high alert after a pigeon was caught near the India-Pakistan border, with a note threatening an “IED blast”, officials said on Thursday morning as reported by News 18.
The Border Security Force caught the pigeon in the Khatmarian area of RS Pura with a paper tied to its leg. The paper tied to the pigeon read, “Jammu Station IED Blast”.
The BSF informed the Jammu and Kashmir Police about the threat message, after which an alert was issued at the railway station, officials said.
The incident comes days after the security forces caught a suspicious pigeon in the border area on August 18. The bird was spotted by a patrol team in suspicious circumstances near Forward Defense Post-69, close to Kathmaria BOP, under the 07 Battalion of the BSF, The Daily Jagran reported.
