SRINAGAR: A Kashmiri man in Bhopal lost his life when a mobile phone explosion triggered a fire in a barber shop in Bhopal on Monday, reportedly caused by flammable chemicals used in the salon.

Faisal, 30, son of Hafeezullah and a resident of Lal Bazaar, is one of eight people who died in the fire incident. The rest of the seven people are locals of Bhopal. Faisal runs a wholesale cosmetic business near Nowhatta and was in Bhopal due to work.

Witnesses said a phone kept on charge inside the shop exploded while the barber was working with chemical products. The blast is believed to have ignited the chemicals, causing the fire to spread rapidly.

Local sources said the blaze damaged property inside the shop, and resulted in death of all eight people inside the shop.
