Srinagar: The Meteorological Department in Srinagar has forecast a mix of hot, humid weather and rain for Jammu and Kashmir over the coming days, with a warning for intense showers and flash flood risks in parts of the Jammu division between July 28 and 30.

Director MeT, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad, Said that hot and humid conditions with occasional brief showers are expected across the region on July 26 and 27.

From July 28 to 30, the region is likely to experience intermittent light to moderate rain and thundershowers. “Parts of the Jammu division may see intense rainfall, particularly during late night and early morning hours,” he said.

Looking ahead to August 1–3, the forecast suggests continued hot and humid weather, with scattered rain or thundershower activity in some areas.

The MET Centre has issued an alert for the period from July 28–30, warning of intense rainfall, gusty winds, and the risk of flash floods in vulnerable areas. There is also a possibility of landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones in hilly regions. Farmers have been advised to resume agricultural activities with caution. (JKNS)
