SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday hosted a dinner in honour of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance in Gulmarg during its ongoing study visit to Jammu and Kashmir.

The Committee is on an official tour of Srinagar and Gulmarg from May 4 to May 7 as part of its annual programme to review and deliberate on key financial and economic issues.

The dinner, held in the picturesque hill resort, provided an opportunity for informal interaction between the Chief Minister and members of the panel. Welcoming the visiting delegation, Abdullah expressed hope that the visit would offer valuable insights into the Union Territory’s developmental priorities and tourism potential.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee’s visit is aimed at gaining first-hand exposure to various sectors and government initiatives in the region as part of its broader assessment exercise.

Among those present on the occasion were Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, MLA Gulmarg Pirzada Farooq Ahmed Shah, MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Dheeraj Gupta, Commissioner Secretary Industries and Commerce Vikramjit Singh, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla SF Hamid, Director General Budget Mohammad Sultan Malik, besides other senior officials.
