Two Dead in Oil Tanker Crash

SRINAGAR: Two persons lost their lives in a tragic road accident on the Leh–Ladakh highway Wednesday evening after an oil tanker skidded off the road and rolled into a deep gorge.

An official said that both the driver and conductor of the tanker died on the spot due to the impact of the crash. “We reached the site and attempted to assist, but unfortunately both had succumbed to their injuries by the time help arrived,” the official said.

The identities of the deceased are yet to be confirmed.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident. (JKNS)
