Valley Warriors Srinagar lift Zainakote Champions Cup title

Srinagar, Jun 28: In a high-octane cricket finale, Valley Warriors Srinagar club produced a clinical all-round performance to clinch the Zainakote Champions Cup Edition 3 title, dismantling Dar Bike Shop Maloora by a whopping 73 runs at the HMT Sports Ground in Srinagar on Saturday.

Powered by explosive batting and disciplined bowling, the Warriors stamped their authority to lift the coveted trophy in front of an enthusiastic crowd.

Valley Warriors Srinagar, as per a statement, asked to bat first after they lost the toss. Dar Bike Shop Maloora were left chasing leather as Valley Warriors posted a daunting 217/8 in 20 overs, with a power-packed batting display by Bhat (61 off 28), Waseem Kachur (47 off 30), and Aaqib Mir (45 off 27).

Despite a fiery knock of 61 from Bhat for the chasing side, Dar Bike Shop Maloora crumbled under pressure, failing to consolidate the chase, and were bundled out for 144 in just 15.5 overs. The Valley Warriors’ bowling attack, led by Aaqib Mir (4/33) and Asim Bashir (3/20), proved too difficult for the opposition to handle.

Sameer picked up 3 wickets for Maloora.

The match saw a vibrant turnout but marked a one-sided end to the tournament’s third edition.
