SRINAGAR: IAS officer Pallavi Mishra, who previously served in Jammu and Kashmir, has been appointed as the Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) of Amritsar, Punjab.

Mishra, a 2023-batch Indian Administrative Service officer, was recently transferred from the AGMUT cadre to the Punjab cadre following approval of an inter-cadre transfer on marriage grounds under the IAS Cadre Rules, 1954.

In her new role, she will oversee a broad range of administrative, developmental and governance-related responsibilities in Amritsar, a key district in Punjab.

Before her transfer, Mishra served as Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Marh in Jammu and Kashmir. She had also worked as an Assistant Collector in Goa during her tenure in the AGMUT cadre.

Mishra came into the national spotlight after securing All India Rank 73 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2022 on her second attempt. A law graduate from the National Law University, Delhi, she cleared the examination with Law as her optional subject.

Her transfer to the Punjab cadre was approved by the Central Government following her marriage to Aaditya Sharma, a fellow 2023-batch IAS officer belonging to the Punjab cadre. The move was effected in April 2026 under the inter-cadre transfer provisions applicable to All India Services officers.
