
Srinagar, June 14: Three residents of Haryana were killed and two others injured after the car they were travelling in collided head-on with a bus near Nagrota on the outskirts of Jammu city during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.
According to police, the accident took place near Jagti in the Nagrota area when a car bearing registration number HR29BB-2127, travelling towards Jammu, collided with a bus (JK02AJ-9933) that was heading towards Udhampur.
Five persons were travelling in the car at the time of the accident. All of them sustained critical injuries and were immediately rushed to the Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital, Jammu, for treatment.
Police said two of the occupants were declared brought dead on arrival at the hospital, while another succumbed to injuries during treatment.
The deceased have been identified as Sikander Saifi, Shakti and Mohit Verma, all residents of Ballabgarh, Haryana.
The two injured passengers are undergoing treatment at GMC Jammu, officials said.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated further investigation into the cause of the accident.
