
SRINAGAR: A 15-year-old boy drowned in the Tawi River in Jammu on Saturday after slipping into deep water while bathing with friends.
The deceased, identified as Akash, had gone to the river with companions when he accidentally lost balance and was swept away by the current.
Following the incident, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Jammu Police and other rescue teams launched a large-scale search operation, assisted by local divers. The operation continued for several hours along the river stretch.
Rescue teams later recovered the boy’s body from the river. Despite extensive efforts, he was declared dead.
