Putin Unveils Russia’s $25 Billion Commitment

In an exclusive conversation with India Today Group’s Geeta Mohan at SPIEF 2026, Russian President Vladimir Putin highlighted the strength of India-Russia economic ties, revealing that Russian energy giant Rosneft has invested around $25 billion in India. The investment includes an oil refinery, port infrastructure, and fuel retail networks. Putin said Russia is actively sharing technology with India and expanding cooperation in energy, hydrocarbons, and other strategic sectors. Praising India’s talent and technological capabilities, he described India-Russia relations as trust-based and brotherly. Putin also said Russia is increasing supplies to India amid global uncertainties and remains committed to supporting the Indian economy through long-term partnership.
