KPDCL Announces Scheduled Power Shutdowns Across Multiple Areas of Kashmir | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: The Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL), has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across several transmission lines in Kashmir for maintenance works, resulting in temporary disruption of electricity supply in multiple areas on different dates in May and June 2026.

According to officials, the shutdown of the 33 KV Alusteng–Zakura tap line will be carried out from 11 am to 3 pm on May 20, 2026, affecting Umerhair, Panchayat areas, Ahmad Nagar and adjoining localities.

The shutdown of the 33 KV LJHP Gantamulla–Uri line, 33 KV Amargarh–Watergam line and 33 KV Sheeri–Malpora–Chandoosa line will be observed from 9 am to 3 pm on June 1 and June 4, 2026. During this period, power supply will remain affected in several areas including Salamabad, NHPC, MES, TFC, Garkote, Uri, Mohura, Rampore, Bani, Bijhama, Dhani, Watergam, Hachipora, Hadipora, Safalpora, Ganapora, Palpora, Behrampora, Dangiwacha, Chandoosa, Hospital, Dangerpora, Sultanpora, Gantamulla, Malpora, Hevan, Namblan and Nowshera, among others.

Officials said the 33 KV Nehalpora–Gulmarg line will remain shut from 9 am to 3 pm on May 21 and May 25, 2026, affecting supply in Ferozpora, Babareshi, Tangmarg, Kulhama, Ringawali, Mulgam, Kralweth and Chandilora areas.

The 33 KV Nehalpora–Pattan–Amargarh line and 33 KV Amargarh–Sopore line will also remain shut from 9 am to 3 pm on May 24, 2026, affecting Hamray, Tapper, Wanigam, Lolipora, Hospital Road, Court Road, Main Chowk, Model Town and Sidiq Colony, among other areas.

Besides, the 33 KV Amargarh–Nowpora line will be shut on June 1, 2026, from 9 am to 3 pm, affecting Mundji, Seeloo, Behrampora, Bomai and Nowpora, while the 33 KV Amargarh–Arampora line will remain shut on June 4, 2026, affecting Panzipora, Shair Colony, Tarzoo and Hospital areas.

The 33 KV Amargarh–Bandipora line will also be shut on June 8, 2026, from 9 am to 3 pm, affecting Duroo, Watlab, Tujjar, Warpora and Hatlangoo areas.

Officials further clarified that the previously scheduled shutdown of the 33 KV Uri line on May 20, 2026, has been cancelled.

KPDCL said the shutdowns are necessary for maintenance and system upgrade works, and consumers have been advised to make necessary arrangements accordingly.
