Bus accident in Sangaldan Ramban leaves one dead, several injured

Banihal, May 19: At least one passenger was killed and around 15 to 16 others sustained injuries after a passenger bus overturned on the Gool–Sangaldan road near Sangaldan in Ramban district on Tuesday.

According to reports, the bus bearing registration number JK02CU-7482 was on its way to Jammu from Dharam in sub division Gool when the driver allegedly lost control over the vehicle, causing it to turn turtle on the roadside.

Police officials said that soon after the accident, local residents, police and traffic police personnel rushed to the spot and launched rescue operations. The injured passengers were shifted to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

Officials said that one passenger died in the accident, while the condition of some injured persons is stated to be critical.
