SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has annulled all transfer, posting and attachment orders issued by the then Director Health Services (DHS), Jammu during the latter half of April 2026, citing administrative exigencies and the need to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services.
According to Government Order No. 422-JK(HME) of 2026 dated May 15, issued by the Health and Medical Education Department, a large number of orders relating to doctors, non-gazetted officials, paramedical staff, Class-IV employees and other healthcare workers were issued between April 15 and April 30, 2026.
The order noted that the current Director Health Services, Jammu, through communications dated May 11, 2026, had furnished details of all such transfers and attachments to the department for examination.
Following scrutiny, the government observed that, given the timing and scale of the administrative changes, it was necessary in the interest of patient care and institutional efficiency to rescind the orders with immediate effect.
It has been ordered that all transfer, posting and attachment directions listed in Annexure-A stand cancelled ab initio, and all affected employees shall be deemed to have been restored to their previous places of posting.
The order further clarified that all such employees will continue to discharge duties at their earlier postings as existed prior to the issuance of the now-cancelled orders.
The administration has also cautioned that any deviation from the order will be treated seriously and may invite disciplinary proceedings. Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) have been directed to ensure strict compliance and implementation.
The Director Health Services, Jammu, has been instructed to enforce the order in letter and spirit and submit a compliance report to the Administrative Department within three days.
