SRINAGAR: Dr Tasaduk Hussain Itoo, a physician from Poshkreri village in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, has been conferred the Fellowship of the Royal Society for Public Health (FRSPH), United Kingdom.

The fellowship is awarded to professionals who have made notable contributions to public health and maintain recognised standards of academic and professional practice. It places Dr Itoo among a wider network of public health professionals.

The Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) grants fellowship status to individuals demonstrating sustained work and involvement in the field of public health.

Dr Itoo has been engaged in clinical practice and academic activities, contributing to healthcare delivery and preventive health efforts, with a focus on patient care and public health awareness.

He holds affiliations with several international bodies, including the International Diabetes Federation, the Academy of Medical Educators (UK), the Faculty of Public Health under the Royal Colleges of Physicians (UK), and the Royal Society of Biology (UK). He is also associated with the American College of Physicians (USA) and the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India.

He was recently appointed as an assessor by the Academy of Medical Educators (UK), becoming the first medical professional from Jammu and Kashmir to receive this role.

With this addition, Dr Itoo holds multiple fellowships and memberships from various medical and public health organisations.
