
SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns in parts of Srinagar and adjoining areas on May 5, 7 and 9 due to maintenance work on key transmission lines.
According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, the shutdown of the 33 kV Wanganpora–SH Pora line and the 33 kV Wanganpora–Kawdara line will affect electricity supply to several areas, including MR Gunj, Nawabazar, Mughal Masjid, Zadibal, Sazgiripora, Nowhatta, Jamia Masjid, Rajouri Kadal, Gojwara, Nawakadal, Shreen Bagh and Narwara, from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm on May 5 and 7.
In a separate schedule, the shutdown of the 33 kV Nowpora–Achabal Tapline will disrupt power supply to Achabal, Ferozpora, Doabagh and adjoining areas from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm on May 9.
KPDCL said the shutdowns are necessary to carry out essential maintenance works and ensure the stability and reliability of the power distribution network. Residents in the affected areas have been advised to make necessary arrangements during the outage period.
