
SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday expressed sorrow over the deaths of three workers in a bridge collapse incident at Bantalab on the outskirts of Jammu city.
In a condolence message, the Chief Minister conveyed sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed for peace to the departed souls. He also wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the incident.
He directed authorities to conduct a thorough inquiry to determine the cause of the collapse and fix responsibility for any lapses.
On Friday, a portion of a bridge in the Bantalab area collapsed during repair work on a retaining wall, trapping several labourers under debris.
