SRINAGAR: Police in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday, in coordination with the civil administration, demolished illegal properties belonging to drug peddlers worth crores along National Highway 44 under the jurisdiction of Police Station Bijbehara.
Police stated that the drive was conducted as part of an ongoing anti-narcotics campaign aimed at targeting assets allegedly acquired through the illegal drug trade.
Officials said the demolished structures were identified as properties constructed using proceeds from drug peddling.
The joint operation by police and civil administration was carried out in accordance with due legal procedures, with the objective of dismantling the financial networks of drug traffickers in the district.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to sustained action against drug peddlers, warning that those involved in the narcotics trade will face strict legal consequences, including attachment and demolition of illegally acquired assets.
Police also appealed to the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and share information to help eliminate the drug menace from society.
