Sony India expands retail presence with New Sony Center in Srinagar

Sony India has expanded its premium retail footprint in Jammu and Kashmir with the launch of a new Sony Center in Srinagar. The outlet, operated by Nori Electric, is located in Jawahar Nagar and spans approximately 1,260 square feet, offering customers an immersive and experience-driven retail environment.

Designed around Sony’s ‘Cinema Is Coming Home’ (CICH) concept, the new store aims to replicate a theatre-like experience within a home setting. The retail space integrates advanced display technologies with high-quality audio systems, enabling customers to interact with products in a realistic, lifestyle-oriented setup rather than a conventional showroom format.

Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Nayyar, Managing Director of Sony India, said the new store reflects the company’s focus on enhancing customer engagement through experiential retail. He noted that the concept goes beyond product display, allowing visitors to experience how Sony’s technology integrates into everyday life. The store layout emphasizes immersive viewing and listening zones to demonstrate the brand’s innovation in home entertainment.

At the core of the outlet is the BRAVIA experience zone, showcasing large-format televisions, including 98-inch (248 cm) and 85-inch (215 cm) models, paired with premium soundbars to deliver a cinematic audiovisual experience. The store also features a dedicated Digital Imaging section, where customers can explore and test a range of Sony cameras and lenses through hands-on demonstrations.

In addition, visitors can engage with Sony’s broader product ecosystem, including personal audio devices such as headphones and earbuds, as well as gaming consoles through an interactive PlayStation experience zone. The integrated layout is intended to provide a seamless understanding of how different product categories complement each other within a connected entertainment setup.

The launch underscores Sony India’s ongoing strategy to strengthen its presence in key markets through premium retail formats that prioritize customer interaction and product experience. By expanding in Srinagar, the company aims to cater to a growing consumer base seeking high-end electronics and immersive home entertainment solutions.

The newly opened Sony Center is located at 239, Jawahar Nagar, Srinagar – 190008, and is now open to customers.
