
SRINAGAR: Police in South Kashmir’s Shopian district have attached a double-storey residential house allegedly acquired through proceeds of drug trafficking in the Keller area.
The property, located in Khasra No. 58 at Vishroo Payeen Keller and valued at Rs 31,65,577, belongs to Mohd Yousuf Bhat of the same locality. The action was taken in connection with FIR No. 03/2026 registered at Police Station Keller under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Police said the house was identified as being linked to the illegal narcotics trade and was accordingly attached as part of ongoing proceedings against drug networks.
The attachment was executed in the presence of a police team, an Executive Magistrate, Lambardar, and Chowkidar, ensuring adherence to due legal process and procedural transparency.
Shopian Police reiterated their commitment to curbing the drug menace by targeting both offenders and assets generated through illegal drug trade, and urged the public to share information related to narcotics activities.
