Says “Operation Sindoor” ensured swift elimination of attackers; reiterates Centre’s uncompromising stand against terrorism

Srinagar, April 21: BJP Jammu and Kashmir spokesperson Altaf Thakur on Tuesday paid solemn tributes to the tourists who were killed in last year’s terror attack in Pahalgam, describing the day as a painful reminder of the human cost of terrorism and a moment to reaffirm the nation’s resolve against such acts.
In a statement, Thakur expressed deep condolences to the families of the victims and said the entire country continues to stand with them in their grief. He noted that the attack had shaken the conscience of the nation but also united people in their determination to defeat terrorism.
Highlighting the response of security forces, Thakur said that those behind the attack were identified and eliminated in a swift and decisive operation carried out under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He praised the government’s zero-tolerance policy, stating that it has strengthened the security framework and ensured that perpetrators of such crimes do not escape justice.
Referring to “Operation Sindoor,” Thakur said the mission demonstrated India’s strong resolve and operational capability in dealing with terror threats. “The operation sent a clear and powerful message that any attempt to harm innocent civilians will be met with a firm and immediate response. The leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ensured that the fight against terrorism remains decisive and result-oriented,” he said.
Thakur further said that the government has taken sustained measures to enhance security for both residents and tourists in Jammu and Kashmir, contributing to growing confidence among visitors returning to the region.
He added that the sacrifices of the victims will not be in vain and will continue to strengthen efforts to build lasting peace and stability. “The nation remains committed to ensuring that Jammu and Kashmir moves forward on the path of development without fear,” he said.
