SRINAGAR: Cyber Police Sopore has issued a public advisory urging netizens to refrain from sharing provocative, misleading, or unverified content on social media platforms.
In a statement, the cyber unit cautioned that such content can disrupt public order and create unnecessary panic among citizens. Officials said that online activity is being closely monitored to prevent the spread of misinformation and ensure digital discipline.
The advisory emphasized that strict legal action will be taken against individuals found to be involved in circulating false or inflammatory material. Citizens have been urged to act responsibly and verify information before sharing it online.
Authorities reiterated their commitment to maintaining cybersecurity and safeguarding the digital space from misuse.
It is pertinent to mention that authorities have already placed a senior lecturer under suspension after students staged protests in Sopore, north Kashmir, following allegations of harassment by a female student.
