PM chairing CCS meeting to reflect on West Asian crisis

New Delhi, April 2: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is chairing a meeting of Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) at 7 pm today, in Delhi. This is the second such meet in less than 10 days, with the previous one taking place on March 22 over the situation in West Asia amid Iran war.

In the earlier meeting on March 22, Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) reviewed the situation arising out of the conflict in West Asia and a detailed assessment was made on the availability of critical needs of the common people, including food, energy and fuel security, an official statement said here.

PM Modi, who chaired the meeting, directed that a group of ministers and secretaries be created to work dedicatedly in a whole-of-government approach to deal with the effects of the West Asia conflict.

CCS meeting today | Key points

-The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) will reportedly meet at 7 pm on Wednesday in Delhi to discuss developments amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia.

-The meeting will reportedly be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who led a CCS on March 22 as well.

-West Asia has been facing disruptions due to the ongoing war triggered by US-Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28. The strikes killed Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

-In the previous CCS meeting, the Cabinet Secretary gave a detailed presentation on the global situation and the mitigating measures taken so far and being planned by all concerned Ministries/Departments of the Government of India.
