Excavator involved in illegal mining seized in Awantipora: Police

Srinagar, Mar 31: In a continued drive against illegal mining, J&K Police seized one L&T machine (excavator) involved in unlawful extraction activities at Green Land Woyen Awantipora.

As per a press release, during routine patrolling, a police party from Police Station Khrew headed by SHO PS khrew detected illegal mining. Acting promptly, the team seized one  Larsen & Toubro (L&T) machine being used for the illegal activity. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 25/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Khrew, and investigation has been taken up.

J&K Police reiterates its commitment to act firmly against illegal mining and appeals to the general public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and report any such unlawful activities in their vicinity, it added.
