
Jammu, Mar 30: Two Border Security Force personnel, including an Inspector and a Sub-Inspector, were injured after being allegedly manhandled by villagers during a search operation in a suspected drug hotspot in Supwal area of Samba district on Monday, officials said.
Official sources told that the duo had gone to the area to carry out a search operation about some drug-related activities when they came under attack from local residents.
Sources added that the personnel were reportedly not in uniform at the time of the operation.
Duo were immediately shifted to a local civil hospital by reinforcement and later referred to a specialised hospital for care where they both are under treatment.
The injured have been identified as Inspector Imtiaz Ahmed and Sub-Inspector Devender.
Police said to have taken up necessary legal proceedings and investigation into the matter.
