
Srinagar, Mar 11: Master Abdul Ahad Sheikh of Tahab, Pulwama, passed away on Wednesday after a brief illness. He was 86.
He was the father of Deputy Director in the Directorate of Libraries and Research, Sheikh Zahoor-ul-Haq.
He is also survived by another son, Ghulam Rasool Sheikh, and a daughter, Tasleema Shaheen.
Family members said that Abdul Ahad Sheikh, son of the late Haji Ali Muhammad Sheikh, was a diabetic patient and had been bedridden for the past year.
Abdul Ahad Sheikh had served in the School Education Department (SED) and retired as a headmaster.
He was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard near the main market in Tahab, Pulwama.
His Rasm-e-Chahrum will be observed on Saturday.
