
SRINAGAR: District Magistrate Jammu Rakesh Minhas has imposed a ban on the transportation of bovine animals from Jammu district to other districts, invoking powers under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
According to an official order, the restriction covers animals such as cows, buffaloes, oxen, bulls and calves, and will remain in force with immediate effect. Transportation of these animals outside the district will only be permitted with prior written approval from the District Magistrate or the Additional District Magistrate Jammu, subject to conditions prescribed by the administration.
The order states that the restrictions will remain in force for a period of two months from the date of issuance or until it is rescinded earlier.
The administration has warned that any person found violating the order will be liable for action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
