SRINAGAR: Examinations scheduled for March 2 and 3 across universities in Kashmir have been postponed, while all government and private degree colleges in the Kashmir division will remain closed for two days, authorities announced on Sunday.

The Office of the Controller of Examinations, Cluster University Srinagar, said that all examinations slated for March 2 and 3 have been postponed. Fresh dates for the deferred papers will be notified separately.

The Islamic University of Science and Technology, Awantipora, also postponed examinations scheduled for March 2 until further orders. The university further announced that all classwork will remain suspended on March 2. The revised schedule for the postponed examinations will be issued separately.

Similarly, the University of Kashmir notified that all examinations scheduled to be held on March 2 have been postponed. The Assistant Controller of Examinations said that fresh dates for the conduct of the examinations will be announced in due course.

In a separate order, the Directorate of Colleges, Higher Education Department, directed that all Government Degree Colleges, Government College of Engineering and Technology institutions and private colleges in the Kashmir division shall remain closed on March 2 and 3 in the interest of administration.

Meanwhile, the Central University of Kashmir announced that routine classwork will remain suspended for two days. The university also withdrew its earlier decision to hold online classes, citing restricted internet speed.

Authorities said that revised examination schedules and further updates will be communicated separately.
