SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir moved to the brink of a historic Ranji Trophy title after bowling out Karnataka for 288 to secure a commanding first-innings lead of 291 runs at stumps on Day 4. The hosts opted not to enforce the follow-on.

Aquib Nabi delivered the decisive performance, claiming 5 for 54 to lead a disciplined bowling effort that tightened Jammu Kashmir’s grip on the final. Yudhvir and Sunil supported effectively with two wickets each as Karnataka’s batting line-up struggled to build sustained partnerships.

Karnataka’s resistance was led almost entirely by Mayank, who scored 160, but he lacked meaningful support as wickets fell regularly at the other end.

Jammu Kashmir now hold a dominant position heading into the final day, with Karnataka facing a daunting task to reverse the deficit and remain in contention.

Further play on Day 5 will determine whether Jammu Kashmir can convert their advantage into a title-winning result.
