
SRINAGAR: Eight persons sustained injuries after a cab travelling from Srinagar to Jammu met with an accident near Sherbibi on Saturday, officials said.
An official said that the vehicle, an Ertiga bearing registration number JK01AW-4650, was carrying seven members of a family from Padshahbag, Srinagar and one passenger from Pulwama when it reportedly lost control and met with the mishap.
Immediately after the accident, the injured were evacuated to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Banihal, where doctors administered first aid and stabilised them.
Given the nature of injuries, including fractures and multiple lacerations, all eight injured were later referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar for advanced treatment.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and further investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of the accident. (KNC)
