Kupwara: Kupwara Police have solved a burglary case reported from Hajaj Market earlier this month, arresting three accused individuals and recovering stolen property along with the motorcycle allegedly used in the offence.
According to officials, the burglary occurred during the intervening night of January 9 and 10. Following a complaint, an FIR was registered at Police Post Bazaar Kupwara and multiple police teams were formed under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Mubashir Niaz.
During investigation, CCTV footage from several locations was examined, providing crucial leads. Acting on these inputs, police apprehended the first suspect, identified as Akhter Ahmad Mir of Drugmulla. Based on his disclosure, two more associates were arrested, including Showket Ahmad Mir of Drugmulla, while the identity of the third accused was not revealed due to ongoing investigations.
Police said stolen cash, cash garlands, empty garlands, dry fruits and ready-made garments including jeans and jackets were recovered from the residences of the accused. The motorcycle allegedly used in the commission of the crime was also seized.
Further investigation is in progress to determine whether the trio were involved in other similar offences in the district.
