
SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday summoned the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly to convene in Jammu on February 2, 2026, marking the first Assembly sitting of the year.
According to official summons and bulletins issued by the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Secretariat, the Assembly will meet at the Legislative Assembly Complex in Jammu at 10 am. The session has been convened by the Lieutenant Governor in exercise of powers conferred under Sections 18(1) and 21(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019.
An official order signed by the Lieutenant Governor stated that the Assembly has been called to assemble on February 2, when he will also address the House. All Members of the Legislative Assembly have been requested to attend the session at the appointed date and venue, in accordance with the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business of the House.
The Assembly Secretariat has also asked members to submit legislative business within prescribed timelines. Members may submit up to ten starred and ten unstarred questions by January 12, 2026. Notices for introduction of up to two Bills are to be submitted by January 15, while a maximum of four resolutions may be submitted by January 17.
