
Srinagar: A 35-year-old advocate from south Kashmir, serving as a Public Prosecutor with the Central Bureau of Investigation, died after sustaining critical injuries in a road accident in Banihal on Thursday.
News agency GNS quoted officials as saying that an Alto car was involved in an accident in the Banihal area of Ramban district. The mishap left Adil Ahmed Sheikh, son of Ghulam Nabi Sheikh, a resident of Kandipora Bijbehera in Anantnag, with critical injuries.
Soon after the accident, he was rushed to Government Medical College Anantnag, where doctors provided emergency treatment. As his condition deteriorated, he was referred to Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura, for specialised care. Despite sustained medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of Friday.
The deceased was known for his professional work in the legal field and was actively serving as a Public Prosecutor with the CBI at the time of his death.
His untimely demise has triggered grief across legal and social sections, with several people expressing shock and extending condolences to the bereaved family.
