LG Sinha Calls for Coordinated Action to Dismantle Terror Ecosystem in Jammu Kashmir | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday stressed that sustained and coordinated action against terrorists, their supporters and ideologues was essential to dismantle the entire terror ecosystem and eliminate safe havens across the Union Territory.

Chairing a UT-level security conference modelled on the Directors General of Police and Inspectors General of Police Conference, Sinha said the security gains achieved since 2019 must be protected and consolidated. The meeting was held under the theme “Viksit Bharat: Security Dimensions.”

The Lieutenant Governor said that every terrorist and their backers operating in the Valley, forests, hills and villages must be neutralised to ensure durable peace and stability. He underlined the importance of close coordination among security and intelligence agencies to counter emerging threats and prevent any resurgence of terror networks.

The conference involved detailed discussions on internal security, with a focus on strengthening counter-terror operations and preserving the progress made in recent years. While noting the significant improvement in the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, Sinha cautioned against any sense of complacency.

He said security preparedness must be aligned with the national vision of a developed India, emphasising that peace and stability are fundamental to development and public welfare. The meeting also reviewed the overall security scenario, including counter-terrorism efforts, border management and measures to curb radicalisation.

Senior officers from the police, armed forces and intelligence agencies participated in the conference. Reiterating a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism, the Lieutenant Governor said decisive action would continue against all elements posing a threat to peace in the Union Territory.
