Property Worth Rs 35 Lakh Attached from Alleged Drug Peddler | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: Police in Budgam have attached property valued at around Rs 35 lakh, including a double-storey residential house and a Maruti A-Star car, belonging to an alleged drug peddler in Mazhama, Magam.

According to officials, the seized assets belong to Hilal Ahmad Mir alias Hilal Galwan, son of Ghulam Mohammad Mir, who is named in FIR No. 29/2020 under Sections 8, 22 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act registered at Police Station Magam.

Police said investigations confirmed that the accused had acquired the property using proceeds from narcotics trafficking. After completing legal formalities and verifying evidence, the seizure was executed under Section 68F of the NDPS Act.

Officials stated that the action forms part of ongoing efforts by Jammu and Kashmir Police to dismantle drug networks and deprive peddlers of illegally acquired assets. The police have encouraged the public to report information related to drug abuse and trafficking to support a collective fight against the menace.
