SRINAGAR: The Jammu Kashmir Power Transmission Corporation Limited (JKPTCL) has announced a 14-day shutdown of a 20 MVA transformer at the 2×20 MVA, 132/33kV Grid Substation, Kishtwar Katarsoma, from November 18 to December 1, 2025.

The shutdown is aimed at augmenting the substation’s capacity from 40 MVA to 70 MVA.

During this period, power supply is expected to be curtailed by approximately 10 MW. JKPTCL officials said rotational load shedding will be implemented across the 33kV and 11kV feeders to manage the shortfall.

Affected areas include Mandal, Iqhala, Padyarna, Padar, Dangdoru, Hatta, Dedpath, Sarthal, and Malipath, where residents may experience intermittent power disruptions.

The utility corporation urged consumers to plan accordingly and assured that the upgrade would enhance the substation’s overall capacity and reliability once completed.
