SRINAGAR: Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan on Wednesday emphasised that Jammu and Kashmir must achieve normalcy before it can effectively manage its own affairs as a state.
Speaking to the media, Khan said the desire for normalcy is shared across India, and that a stable environment is essential for Jammu Kashmir to function independently. “The whole of India wishes that Kashmir, as a state, should be able to run its own affairs. But for this, normalcy must return,” he remarked.
He called on citizens and authorities alike to work collectively to restore law and order in the region, ensuring conditions similar to those in other states across the country.
Khan added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of India share a collective hope for Jammu Kashmir’s eventual restoration of statehood, but stressed that such a transition must be based on a well-structured and sustainable framework.
