2-day Baba Nagriurs to begin today in Kangan

Kangan, Jun 6: The 130th annual Urs of HazratMianNizam-ud-Din Kiyanvi (RA) will commence on Sunday at Baba NagriWangath in Kangan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

According to an official statement issued by SajadaNashin Baba Ji Sahib Larvi, Mian Altaf Ahmad, the two-day Urs will be observed on June 7 and 8. The annual congregation will conclude with special prayers on June 8.

The Urs is traditionally observed during the first fortnight of June every year and attracts thousands of devotees from across Jammu and Kashmir as well as other parts of the country.

Eyewitnesses said that pilgrims from Rajouri, Poonch, Doda, Jammu, Udhampur, Bandipora and Anantnag districts have already started arriving at Baba Nagri to participate in the annual event.

The shrine management has made elaborate arrangements for food, accommodation and other essential facilities to ensure a smooth and comfortable stay for the devotees during the Urs.
