Woman Slips into Well in North Kashmir, Rescue Operation Underway

SRINAGAR: A joint rescue operation was launched on Wednesday in the Hajibal Bala Sahkooli area of Kalaroos in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district after a woman fell into a well.

Officials said that the woman, a resident of Hajibal Bala Sahkooli, accidentally slipped and fell into a well near her home.

They said that soon after the incident, a joint team of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Fire and Emergency Services Kupwara rushed to the spot and began the rescue operation.

At the time of filing this report, efforts were underway to rescue the woman, who was identified as Fatima Begum, wife of Fareed Ahmad.

Meanwhile, an investigation has been initiated, and further details are awaited. (KNC)
