UPI Link, Defence Boost, Indo-Pacific Cooperation In Focus

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced deeper strategic and economic ties with To Lam during a joint press statement. India and Vietnam will soon link their digital payment systems, including UPI and Vietnam’s fast payment network, boosting financial connectivity. Both nations will expand cooperation at state and city levels while strengthening defence and security ties. Vietnam remains central to India’s Act East Policy and Indo-Pacific vision. Modi also thanked Vietnam for condemning the Pahalgam terror attack. With strong economic momentum, both countries aim to enhance regional stability, trade, and long-term strategic partnership across ASEAN.
