Unidentified Body Recovered from Canal in Ganderbal | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: An unidentified body was recovered from an agricultural irrigation canal in the Thuru area of Yanhama in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Friday.

According to reports, local residents spotted the body floating in the canal and informed the police. Soon after receiving the information, a police team reached the spot and retrieved the body from the water channel.

The identity of the deceased was not immediately known.

The body has been shifted for medico-legal formalities, while police have launched an investigation to ascertain the identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding the death.

Further investigation is underway.
